Gooding Close is a development comprised of 30 apartments and maisonettes which are a mix of both socially rented and privately owner, and are set in and around a central apartment building which is in turn set amongst individual flats, gardens and garages. Equidistant from Kingston, New Malden and Surbiton, the development is in an excellent location, being within touching distance of several major shopping districts, transport centres and colourful highstreets and with busses travelling up and down both Kingston road to the east and Green lane adjoining Gooding Close to the south. However, despite this proximity, the apartments are set in a pretty neighbourhood amongst peaceful residential roads. The development also has the added benefits of; guest-suite, development warden, private parking, development gardens and residents lounge. The local area: Set within the urban area of New Malden with an excellent variety of local shops nearby, including the popular Tudor Williams department store. Residents are well served by the many local public transport links and for those who drive, the A3 to London or the South Coast is also within easy reach. In addition to the amenities of nearby New Malden is Kingston, with its many vibrant riverside cafés, restaurants, theatre and large shops and is only a short bus ride away. During the summer months the riverside really comes alive with regular boat trips up and down to Hampton court, Richmond and beyond. Although the development is set in very much an urban area, the rolling miles of Richmond Parkland is only a short drive away. This Royal park attracts visitors from all over the world and is a real bonus for all the local and wider community.

The development is very much geared towards those that can live independ of walking aids and wheelchairs, and could prove challenging for those with either to enjoy all the development has to offer. The development is split into a number of detached segments, with none of the maisonettes having lift access however all those in the central building do. Some assistance may be required to open all communal entrance doors as they are not automated, nor are the laundry. The building housing the majority of the development facilities is located towards the centre of the detached segments, and can be accessed using the outdoor laid paths which meanders their way around the development. New Malden high street is the nearest significant shopping area, with the walk fairly long, narrow and suffering from uneven pavements in parts.
